UZUMLU
This is the beautiful and relaxed mountainous village of Uzumlu (Grape Vine). Uzumlu has managed to retain all the natural charms and characters of a traditional
Turkish village. The valley in which Uzumlu is located is one spectacular natural beauty, surrounded by thick pine forests,mountain streams and rugged hillsides.
This is an ideal location for somebody who  wants to combine the enchantment of rural life with the nearby convenience of a modern  town like Fethiye. The village is 19 km. away from Fethiye where a village cooperative presents the wine produced from the grapes of the area.
 The village is also renowned for ‘’dastar’’, a special kind of cloth woven from cotton or silk by the locals.
A beautiful valley with green fields and breathtaking views of The Taurus mountains and 
pine forests, Üzümlü is an example of untouched nature and authentic Turkish life in this Ottoman village. Uzumlu has its own municipality that make things easier for foreign investors. They look after registrations, building administration, running-water, street cleaning, rubbish collections etc... There are public buses and minibuses which all ply both between Uzumlu and Fethiye city centre .
 Also every Friday there is a local market in Uzumlu village for all your fruit & vegetables, dairy produce, clothes and even usefull items for your home.
Üzümlü village is located on a plateau, which it shares with its neighbouring village of Incirkoy. Üzümlü when translated literally means “ grape yard or place of grape”. As its name infers you will see grapevines scattered around all parts of the village and will find the locals are happy to share their produce with you.
Incirköy means “fig village”. This village is located at the opposite side of the Üzümlü plateau.
The population of Üzümlü and  İncirköy  are 1765 and 971 respectively. The locals are adept at utilising the land to make their living. Produce includes wine, grape-juice, vinegar, olives, olive oil, tobacco, figs and fig products as well as weaving “Dastar ”.
Here you will discover the "real Turkey", enjoy the hospitality of the locals and experience the enchantment of rural life.  Hear the nightingales singing, cowbells ringing and a donkey braying, while tortoises potter putter along the road.
After following a steep road from Uzumlu, you reach the Cadianda ancient city which was known as a rich Lycian settlement.
CADIANDA
In Lycian inscriptions the name is recorded as Kadawanti. The history of the city is estimated to date back to 3000 B.C. The earliest ruins at the site, preserved to date, go back to the 5 th centruy B.C. The slopes around the site are surrounded by protective city walls, within the city there are architectural ruins from the Roman and Byzantian periods. Among them are the theatre, baths, the city stadium, civic building.
